Vision:

We will foster educational development and relationship-building among our members.

Mission:

The mission of the Long Island Society of Health-system Pharmacists is to represent and support our members through education, advocacy, information sharing, promotion of best practices and recognition of excellence.

Description:

The Long Island Society of Health-system Pharmacists (LISHP) was founded in 1964. For over 50 years, the Society has served as a key resource for Pharmacists in a variety of practice settings in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and beyond. As a local chapter of the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists (NYSCHP), LISHP has allowed us to support the particular educational, relationship-building, and community development needs of Long Island Pharmacists. We serve as a resource for members to share best practices, we help provide solutions to common issues in Health-Systems Pharmacy, and we advocate on the State and Local levels for advancement in Pharmacy Practice.

Through our collaborations with other NYSCHP chapters, we have been able to pool our resources and better serve the New York City and Long Island areas through volunteer work and community outreach. We have also collaborated with the Long Island Pharmacist Society (LIPS), an affiliate of the Pharmacist Society of the State of New York (PSSNY), as well as the Nassau and Suffolk County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). With these continued collaborative efforts, the future is bright for Long Island Pharmacy!
