Title: Updates on Psychotropic Drugs: Second Generation and Beyond

Pharmacist Objectives:

  1. Recognize that nonadherence remains a significant barrier to treatment for patients with schizophrenia
  2. Differentiate between first-in-class agent xanomeline-trospium and other antipsychotics 
  3. Compare common and rare adverse effects of FDA-approved antipsychotics
  4. Create a treatment plan for a patient case using knowledge from the presentation

  1. Identify signs and symptoms of schizophrenia
  2. Compare different classes of antipsychotics
  3. Describe some common adverse effects of antipsychotics
  4. Specify common and unique storage parameters of antipsychotic medications
